Radio 3 Choral Evensong goes all video

As this evening’s Choral Evensong broadcast drew to a close, listeners were directed to video of the Pilgrim Consort, singing Pablo Casals’ Salve Montserratina.

Having spent all afternoon working on video files for the web, this seemed somewhat providential so I promptly logged on for a listen.

And it’s really cool! A great performance – a choir I’d like to hear more of (is there a website anyone? – it doesn’t google well) – and a great concept.

How long before we see the live choral evensong broadcast via webcam? Let’s face it, choirs are all the more interesting to watch than listen to – especially some of the lay clerks I know!

Only pity is that they’ve done it as a download rather than an in-page Flash movie (for an example see ABC’s Lost page). For the techies out there – I’ve learned a lot about this recently and will be posting a tutorial on it shortly.
